Moral Story Of The Day.

There was a boy who had a problem controlling his anger whenever he was angry. He had a cat which he was very fond of, and could spend hours playing with it.

One day, the boy was doing his homework in his room when his cat climbed up on the drawer where he placed his trophy cup which he won at their school spelling bee.

The next thing that happened was that the cat pushed the trophy cup and it fell to the ground and got broken.

The boy was shocked. Out of anger, he grabbed the cat by the neck and smashed it on the ground. The cat screamed loudly and passed out from the pain.

When the boy realised what he had done, he panicked and began to cry. He rushed to call his father, and he told him he had killed his cat out of his anger.

The father picked up the poor cat which was still breathing, and he rushed it to the veterinarian. After an hour of examination, the veterinarian said the cat suffered a broken spine and would never be able to walk again.

When the father got back home, he scolded his son.
“I’m so disappointed in you, son. How could you do such a thing to your cat just because it broke your trophy cup? Do you realise the pain and the damage that you have caused to that poor thing?”.

The boy began to cry again, he was so full of guilt and remorse. When his cat was brought back home from the veterinary hospital, he could not look it in the eye.

One day, Harry’s father walked into his room and handed him a piece of paper and a pen.

He asked him to spell out the word ANGER on the paper. After Harry had spelled out the word, the father looked at it and asked him to erase it. Harry said.

“It won’t be possible to do that, dad. I can’t erase it because it was written in pen, not pencil.”

The father insisted.
“Just try to do it. Run your finger over it or scratch it gently with your fingernail a little bit and it will be erased. It’s possible”.

Harry scratched repeatedly on the paper, then stopped and looked at his father. The paper was torn and bruised.

At that moment, the father tapped him on the shoulder and spoke gently.
“Listen carefully to this great message I got for you, it would probably help you to control your anger. Actions done out of anger are like words written in ink on a piece of paper, you won’t be able to erase it no matter how much you try, you will only ruin the spot. When we act out of anger, we can hurt people we don’t mean to hurt and say things we don’t mean to say. We can always say we’re sorry, but we can never repair the damage our anger has caused. You should learn to control your anger, don’t let your anger control you. If you are mad, don’t do anything you’ll regret later. Be patient and peace will appear”.
